NAB and SAB are widely specified for seawater fastenings for these reasons. Your drawing or specification will confirm which is required.
Commonly specified for seawater fasteners in naval and offshore applications. Excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, erosion and cavitation when the alloy, microstructure and manufacturing condition are correctly controlled.
Commonly specified where controlled low magnetic permeability is required alongside seawater corrosion resistance; also offers good machinability.
Defence and marine buyers search by spec number — and we supply to them. Legacy naval drawings may call predecessor DGS material specifications — DGS 1043 for NAB, DGS 1044 for SAB. The exact specification and issue on the drawing is reviewed rather than treated as interchangeable with a later NES or DEF STAN.
